Travel Edition: Vancouver Island Restaurant Favs

Having lived in Nanaimo for over a year now as a VIU culinary student I have been intoduced to some gems that locals love and that I seem to always revisit.

Realm Food Company, Parksville

Located in Parksville, this restaurant serves up local food and the best kombucha!! Whether you go for breakfast or lunch their food is just so fresh and damn delicious.

Burnt Honey, Nanaimo

Located in Nanaimo off of the North Island Highway, this gem is owned by a former VIU culinary graduate that opened up this cute shop. The macarons come in all unique flavours as well as their ice cream. You can really taste and see the quality of their treats when you visit.

Westholme Tea Farm, Cowichan

This hidden tea farm located in North Cowichan is quite the relaxing spot for a cup of their locally made tea and bit of dessert to top it off. Westholme tea farm always has me coming back to revisit.

Nourish, Victoria

Located in a heritage house in downtown Victoria this restaurant has a modern take on vegetarian friendly dishes that are bursting with colour and flavour.

Nori Japanese Restaurant, Nanaimo

One of the first restaurants I was introduced to by my classmates was Nori which has become one of my top favourtite Japanese restaurants. Their presentation is always stunning and their ingredients are such great quality.

There are still many restuarants on Vancouver Island that are exceptional and that I haven't featured and so many more that I haven't yet tried. I hope to visit as many restaurants as possible during my time at VIU. These are some of my Top 5 restaurants on the island that are special to me and will always have me coming back for more.

10/10 reccomend to visit all of these gems :)
